My goal is to get as many products to DEMO and then do write ups… So, now is the time to put in your requests for QA/UAT on any products you may be considering or interested in this year!  I am already going after the new Tricaster HD, so impress me with your initiatives and I will try to get to all your requests… And guys, don’t forget Streaming Media East is coming up in May!

I want to start by stating very plainly, there is no such thing as a simple web page.  Not anymore.

Consider this, interactive new media products are living organisms that will either thrive once launched – like living creatures, if they have a healthy gestation, these things can grow strong over time leading long, healthy lives – or, if malnourished or traumatized during their incubation,  will die a slow, painful death in the petri dish.  The cost of birthing one of these “organisms” can not succeed if the stake holders don’t respect the process. read this entry »

A word of warning:  To all those who dabble in the world of streaming media, I recently installed VLC Media Player on to my desktop and discovered that it became the default player for ALL MEDIA content in Fire Fox and destroyed my gorgeous embedded Windows Media video content’s functionality…  We are totally dependent on the reliability of players and plug ins in this game and when Windows Media Player embed tags stopped working completely, I discovered that the only fix was… Uninstall the VLC Media Player…

VLC is great, but if you work in multiple formats/players/embed tags, BEWARE…  It’s a MIME type hog in FF…  Anyone have a better fix for this yet other than this for the VLC Media player ?  Of course, if you use OBJECTY in your tags, maybe you can skip all that pain, but if you can’t change the tags… You know what to do!
